Toyota has revealed its Toyota i-Road Concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
According to Toyota, the Apple-esque named concept is a “compact, fun and emissions-free personal mobility concept, designed to offer quick and efficient urban transport for two people.”
The i-Road has a good chance of becoming a production car, under a different shape and name, which might go against the VW Up! and its Czech and Spanish brothers.

Additional details on key advances and technologies for the all-new 2014 RLX:
- Class leading interior space based on the RLX's longer wheelbase and efficient packaging. At 196.1 inches, the RLX is similar in length to the outgoing RL, but it has a two-inch longer wheelbase and is nearly two inches wider, placing the new RLX well above the norm in the mid-luxury class. The flagship RLX sedan has up to three inches more rear legroom than competing models, including the BMW 535i, Lexus GS350 and Audi A6.
- Extensive use of lightweight materials includes the application of strength steel to 55 percent of the body, and the intensive use of aluminum—for the front fenders, hood, steering hangar beam, front and rear bumper beams, front subframe, and all-new "hybrid" front and rear door panels (steel inner structure mated to aluminum outer skin). The RLX weighs in at 3,933 pounds. Static bending and torsional body rigidity are up 52 percent and 46 percent, respectively.
- Jewel-Eye™ LED headlights (an Acura first) LED lamps enhance the RLX's modern and distinctive appearance while providing outstanding light distribution and improved down-the-road illumination.
- Acura Navigation System with Voice Recognition™ offers a wide range of search options including local search functionality and AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic™ for both highways and surface streets.
- Agile Handling Assist (an Acura first) uses active braking to help the driver smoothly and easily trace the desired line through a curve with smaller steering inputs.
- Electric Parking Brake (an Acura first) provides one-touch parking brake activation.
- Automatic Brake Hold (an Acura first) maintains the vehicle's position when the driving or parking brake are released until the throttle is depressed.
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (an Acura first), allows the RLX to independently maintain a set following distance in low-speed traffic situations, including stop and go traffic, and to initiate vehicle braking when necessary.
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW) uses a camera mounted in the upper portion of the windshield to detect vehicles ahead of the RLX and audibly and visually alert the driver when it determines a frontal collision with a detected vehicle is possible.
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW) uses the same windshield-mounted camera to detect lane markings on the road and alerts the driver if the vehicle is wandering from a detected lane.
- Front seatbelt e-pretensioners use electronic control to reduce belt tension under normal driving conditions, while also enabling automatic belt tensioning in hard cornering maneuvers or in the event of a collision.
- Multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines uses dynamic guidelines that reflect steering wheel inputs on the display to aid in backup maneuvers.
- Capless fueling (an Acura first) eliminates the fuel cap and improves ease of fueling.

Honda has revealed its Urban SUV concept at the North American International Auto Show.
Honda's new SUV is part of a segment of smaller vehicles that are becoming more readily available in the U.S. market with higher-end features such as heated seats and navigation, noted IHS Automotive analyst Rebecca Lindland. Other upcoming small SUVs, such as the Toyota RAV4, fit the bill as well.
The concept measures 169.3 inches in length, making it about eight inches longer than a Fit hatchback and nine inches shorter than the CR-V. Honda confirmed that its new crossover will debut a telematics system for Honda, and it will use one of Honda's new Earth Dreams engines; we previously reported that this engine would be a 1.5-liter I4 paired with a continuously variable transmission.
Inside, Honda's vision for the Urban SUV concept (the concept at the auto show has no interior) is rather conventional, featuring an instrument panel that could easily translate into a production form. The concept reportedly uses Honda's Magic Seats system, which are featured in the Fit subcompact and allow for extraordinary flexibility in terms of seating arrangements and cargo hauling. The production version is expected to also make use of this system.

All-new Honda concept model previews addition to growing small-SUV segment and demonstrates Honda's small-car expertise
An all-new Honda "Urban SUV Concept" vehicle made its world debut today at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The dynamic and youthful concept hints at the styling direction of an all-new small SUV slated to launch in Japan by the end of 2013, followed by the U.S. market in 2014.
"No one has had greater success with small cars than Honda, and this Urban SUV Concept will create new value in the growing small-SUV segment," said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales at American Honda. "With the continued expansion of our North American manufacturing operations, we expect fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive 'small' cars to play a key role in meeting the needs of our customers in the U.S."
The Urban SUV Concept is intended to provide the basis for a fun-to-drive and fuel-efficient small SUV with aspirational design, flexible packaging and next-generation connectivity targeting active lifestyle customers. The concept showcases clean and sophisticated styling, dynamic character lines and a strong stance, with hidden rear door handles giving the SUV a coupe-like presence. Measuring 169.3 inches long, the Urban SUV Concept is nine inches shorter than the Honda CR-V, making it the ideal size for navigating both crowded city streets and open mountain roads.
The Urban SUV Concept represents the expansion of vehicles based on Honda's Global Compact Series, which includes the Honda Fit subcompact and the Honda City subcompact sedan, a model sold in markets outside the United States.
All-New Small SUV Launching 2014
Coming to the U.S. in 2014, an all-new small SUV based on the Urban SUV Concept will feature fuel-efficient Earth Dreams™ Technology and be priced and positioned below the CR-V within the Honda light-truck lineup. Part of Honda's Global Compact Series, and utilizing the Honda-original center-tank layout featured on the Fit, the model will include Honda's configurable Magic Seat® setup that can provide a host of passenger and cargo options, including a fold-flat mode for maximum cargo capacity. The all-new model will also feature next-generation telematics and a modern interior.
The small SUV will be manufactured along with the Fit at Honda's newest North American plant near Celaya, Mexico, expected to open in the spring of 2014. The growth and expansion of its small-vehicle lineup will help Honda double worldwide production of vehicles in its Global Compact Series to more than 1.5 million units by the end of 2016, and remain a global small-car leader.

TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 14, 2013 – Toyota revealed the Corolla Furia Concept at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This exciting compact sedan concept hints at the styling cues consumers can expect to see on the next-generation Corolla. The concept represents an exterior styling study by Toyota designers, and it builds on the brand's product development priority to develop more dramatic, expressively designed vehicles.

The new Nissan Qashqai 360 will enter the market at the same price as the outgoing n-tec+ at £19,945, the new version comes with the firm's Connect package with 360-degree monitor system, satellite-navigation, Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity.
All engines and transmission options are to be made available in the 360, both in the Qashqai and the seven-seat ‘+2’ variant. Petrol choices consist of 1.6- and 2.0-litre units with manual and continually variable transmissions, while there are 1.5-, 1.6- and 2.0-litre litre diesels on hand.
The Qashqai 360 boosts styling adding part-leather trim with double white stitching, a gloss black gearlever surround, gloss black door handles and a leather armrest. In the standard equipment are also included 18-inch ‘Onyx’ alloy wheels, rear privacy glass and a panoramic roof.
Press Release
- New 360 edition joins the Qashqai range, replacing n-tec+
- Set to be best-seller in the line-up
- Features 360° Around View Monitor and part-leather seats among other items
- Priced the same as outgoing n-tec+ but with more equipment
- Available in five-seater Qashqai and seven-seater Qashqai+2
Nissan has launched a new addition to the Qashqai range – the 360. Set to be the best-selling example yet of Nissan’s sector-defining crossover, the 360 sits between the Acenta and Tekna trims, replacing the n-tec+ but offering more equipment for the same £19,945 starting price.
And the Qashqai 360 is expected to be even more popular than the hugely successful n-tec+. The latter accounted for around 60 per cent of Qashqai sales in the UK in 2012, meaning that just this one trim level outsold the entire Ford Mondeo range. The Qashqai n-tec+ also outsold the Kia Sportage and Hyundai ix35 combined too.
With its enhanced specification, the new Qashqai 360 is set to be an even bigger seller. Just like the n-tec+, the 360 features Nissan’s Connect with 360° Around View Monitor system, which integrates satnav with Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity along with four cameras to give a ‘helicopter view’ when parking. Standard equipment also includes 18-inch ‘Onyx’ alloy wheels, rear privacy glass and a panoramic roof.
But the Qashqai 360 boosts styling further adding part-leather trim with double white stitching, a gloss black gearlever surround, gloss black door handles and a leather armrest. Gloss black roof rails, door mirrors and ‘360’ badges mark out the exterior. In addition, a new pearlescent paint – Storm White – has been added to the range, providing the perfect contrast to the 360’s gloss black highlights. Storm White will be available for the same price as metallic paint at £500 extra.
The 360 package is available across all engine and transmission options and can be specified on both the Qashqai and Qashqai+2. Among the most popular variants is likely to be the 1.6 dCi diesel which incorporates stop/start technology for CO2 emissions of just 119g/km and 62.8mpg on the combined cycle. The Qashqai 360 is on sale now, costs from £19,945 and features:
