The V-GT edition heritage continues onto the latest facelifted MKII Carrera models starting in 2010. An all-new aerodynamic package is both simple and elegant enhancing the design of the factory body lines without compromising quality and performance. The V-GT aero package will be available for the Porsche: C2, C2S, C4, C4S, Targa 4, Targa 4S & Cabriolet models.


Up front end the V-GT Carrera shows off a functionally designed front add-on spoiler constructed of pre-preg autoclave carbon fiber. The V-GT front spoiler extends the profile of the factory front bumper to improve downforce at high speeds and also houses integrated dual brake duct openings with a black protective mesh grill.


The rear end is complemented with a sporty carbon fiber rear add-on diffuser that fits perfectly over the factory rear bumper cover. The V-GT rear diffuser enhances the muscular appearance of the rear with 3 integrated diffuser fins paying homage to the racing history of the Porsche 911 series.


Optional items to complement the V-GT enhancements for the Carrera MKII is a carbon fiber roof replacement which removes the factory sunroof saving 47lbs off the top of the vehicle and 19 & 20 inch forged wheels.


The V-GT aero package will be available worldwide starting in January 2010 through select authorized dealers.

Brute force: 619 HP from the Cadillac CTS-V!

The performance saloon segment has for years been the exclusive domain of German manufacturers, for vehicles like the Audi RS6, the BMW M5 or the new Mercedes E63 AMG set the bar so high that most others don't even try to compete. So it's all the more surprising that the American Cadillac of all brands has suddenly hit back with the CTS-V, a lighting ride which has left a good many journalists pale-faced and shaken after test drives. 564 series HP and a massive maximum torque of 747 Nm are a clear challenge to Munich, Ingolstadt and Stuttgart. What is more, Cadillac is now marketing the CTS-V in Europe for 74,400.00 euros - which needless to say leaves its German competitors trailing on the price-performance front.


Tradition, as everyone knows, is an obligation to deliver. That is why GeigerCars.de is offering special performance tuning for the Cadillac CTS-V, timed to coincide with the American performance saloon's European launch. The four-door Cadillac with the tapered bonnet is powered by a classic eight-cylinder engine with a capacity of 6.2 litres, taken from the latest Corvette ZR1. The large intercooler and the compressor below are hidden under the massive power dome hood. Thanks to an increase in air charge pressure, the engineers at GeigerCars.de have now conjured an impressive 619 HP from the CTS-V at 5900 rpm, which means a top speed of over 330km/h thanks to a shortened fifth and sixth gear. Not only that, but they've raised the maximum torque to a brutal 850 Newton metres - a level few sports cars can match.


One thing is for sure: the Geiger Cadillac CTS-V shoots into action in all situations and keeps a joyful grin on its driver's face in every one of its manual gears. Not only that, but its optimised chassis means the CTS-V offers the perfect balance between long-distance comfort and an uncompromising hunger for curves and speed.

In the face of such American sports perfection, we can only say "hats off"!"

Our spies took these pictures of the upcoming Porsche 911 Cabriolet (rumoured model code 998 or 991) testing on the street. The exclusive model features an adjustable rear wing that forms part of the bodywork.


Engine details are scarce but there is some hushed talk of a 390kW (530hp) Turbo model, meaning well over 400kW (544hp) for the more potent GT2 and 570hp for a Turbo S. All four wheels would be driven either by a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed PDK depending on how much torque is available.


For the first time we can see the slightly different headlights which will be accompanied by the visible LED daytime running lights. Do not be fooled by those Turbo-style side air intake vents in the quarter panels because they are bogus. The rear lights seen through the big camo bum are the real deal.


It seems Porsche will stick to the traditional soft top philosophy for the Cabrio instead of the relatively heavier tin-top others are employing.

A one-of-a-kind 2010 Ford Mustang GT known as the "New York Yankees Mustang," is up for auction. The car has been created to celebrate the opening of a new stadium for the famous baseball team and it even features the signature of Derek Jeter on its dashboard.


According to Doyle, the signature Yankees pinstripe paint job and logo was applied before the Yankees won the 2009 World Series. "The World Series win for the Yankees this year only adds to the provenance of this unique collector car. Plus, the dashboard is signed by the 2009 SI Sportsman of the Year, Derek Jeter" he said.

The one-off car reportedly has less than 1,000 miles on the odometer and it is fitted with a 4.6L V-8 engine, an automatic transmission, interior blue lighting throughout, 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, ambient interior lighting, convertible top, leather interior, Shaker 500 AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo system, anti-lock brakes with traction control, Ford cold air induction system, side airbags and power seats.

During Buick's Los Angeles Auto Show press conference for the unveiling of the Opel Insignia-based 2011 Regal saloon, the company's product marketing director, Craig Bierly, showed a teaser sketch of the next addition to the Buick range, a premium compact sedan.

"And now, I have more exciting news to share with you; the first public showing of a rendering that includes our entire future sedan portfolio," Bierly said at the presentation.

Irvine, 5th December 2009. As the eagerly awaited Aston Martin Rapide four-door sports car goes through final engineering and testing phases before being launched in early quarter two 2010, Aston Martin confirms US pricing.


The price of the Rapide will start from $199,950 in the US which features an impressive level of standard specification including: Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system tailored specifically for Rapide, heated memory seats, dual cast brakes and Adaptive Damping System.


The Rapide is Aston Martin's first production four-door sports car encapsulating the practicality of a car with extra doors and fusing it with the trademark sports car dynamics synonymous with modern Aston Martins.


Customer deliveries will commence in spring 2010, and it will be the first sports car to be hand-built at the Aston Martin Rapide Plant (AMRP) in Graz, Austria. The new 17,000 m2 building has been designed to reflect the quality levels established in Gaydon since 2003 permitting the fusion of modern technology, advanced manufacturing processes and handbuilt craftsmanship. Each Rapide will take approximately 220 man hours to build and will benefit from timeless craft skills just like the existing range: DBS, DB9, V12 and V8 Vantage do at Gaydon.


It is anticipated that +/- 2,000 Rapides will be built in the first year attracting a high proportion of new customers to the brand. Core to this trend is the mix of huge attention to detail throughout the car, ample accommodation for up to four adults and the spacious trunk while maintaining Rapide's elegant beauty and sports car profile.

The Porsche Boxster Spyder is a special car--we can't wait to get our hands on one--and these live photos from the floor of the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show, plus a new official video showing the car in action, help to convey the sense of focused purpose that emanates so strongly from the car.


A car, built in a similar vein to the original 356 Speedster, has made a return in the form of the new 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder. While we’ve known about the car for several weeks now, today we've got live photos of the car straight from its world debut on the floor of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and we've even got a couple shots of the 718/8 Spyder, a sort of spiritual predecessor of today's Boxster Spyder.


Looking back on some of the cars that made sport driving great, and built the legend that has become today's Porsche, you have to wonder how we ever got to 3,500 pounds, 500 horsepower twin-turbo monsters. The 356 Speedster, for example--considered by many to be one of the first modern sports cars--weighed a mere 1,670 pounds and managed just 40 horsepower in some guises.


Weighing in at just 2,811 pounds, the new Spyder will be the lightest Porsche available--from a company already known for lightweight, proficient sports cars. It is based on the Boxster S but it gets a small bump in performance, with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine developing 320 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque--the same as the current Cayman S.For full details, check out our in-depth story by clicking here.

The Ferrari 458 Italia has scooped two prestigious awards from BBC Top Gear Magazine, one of the world’s most influential automotive magazines. Not only did the British magazine nominate the 458 Italia “Supercar of the Year”, but also, for the very first time for Ferrari, the coveted title of “Car of the Year”.
